Dateline: Yesterday (from the "Holy *&(@!!!" file)
Metablogging October 16th, 2007
As you may well know, I’ve been sorely absent the past 3 weeks. And while I’ve promised myself I’ll never apologize when I take a break from blogging nor will I necessarily explain myself, it took me strongly aback yesterday when I received an email announcing that cocktailnerd.com made PC Magazine’s “Our 100 Favorite Blogs” list.
Holy Irony-laden Email Batman!
Yeah, between a murderizing project, school starting for the kids again, and just losing track of time, it’s astonishing and honoring that I was selected among such luminaries (and personal favorites) as dlisted, Cute Overload (who even mentions me in their post – thanks gang, my kids and I love C.O.!), and gofugyourself. So now I feel all fired up again, the project’s over, and you can expect continuing mildly coherent unedited rambling excellence from this site yet again.
On a side note, I used to subscribe to PC Magazine ages ago and have worked with, built, and repaired PCs since 1988 when my Mom brought home that suitcase-looking ‘portable’ x86 with the amber screen. However, the other irony and another reason my posts have halted - I bought, and am adjusting to, my first Mac I’ve ever used1 . So, thanks PC Magazine, I’m grateful and promise to raise my kids in a PC-rich environment, at least until they’ve killed 3 video cards and 2 hard drives in each of their boxes and spyware has their machines running at 80486 SX speeds.
This is how absurd this is:

- why, oh WHY can’t I ‘Convert Path to Marquee’ on this blasted thing?!?! [↩]

Congrats on the honorable mention – It’s a damned fine site for sore eyes.
Thanks Mark, good to see you stop in! This was, as I mention, a bit of a pleasant shocker for me.
Hope all is well with you.
Kudos on the pc mag mention!
Woo! You’re like famous!
Nice! Just don’t forget us little people when you’re taking limo rides with Diddy and attending all those red carpet events.
Gabriel, congrats! Good to see your hard work paying off. I may have to start buying marketing real estate on your splash page soon!
Wow! Looks like they took you off the charts! Awesome.
