This weekend marked the first ever Electronic Cigarette Convention for residents of Anaheim, California. For two days, vapers from all over the world flocked the Anaheim to learn more about electronic cigarettes and the preview some of the hottest e-cig products in the industry. During the event, visitors learned more about the legalities surrounding e-cigarettes including sessions that pertained to potential regulations that could impact vapers. Venders from around the world showcased new products and made samples of e-liquids available for visitors to try.

In addition to previewing new products and meeting with their favorite vendors, guests had the chance to win prizes and purchase e-cig products at discounted prices. There were games available at many of the vender booths and it was generally a fun weekend for everyone involved.

The Electronic Cigarette Convention attracted more than 7,000 people, a turn out that was nearly double the amount that many had anticipated. The West Coast Vapers Club organized the event with numerous sponsors including Innokin, NicQuid, VapeRev, and NJOY. The Anaheim Convention Center was a perfect choice for this even with over 77,000 square feet for showcasing e-cigarettes.

During the second day of the conference, several important speakers addressed the crowd about important issues. The American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association shared information about setting appropriate standards for e-liquids.

Throughout the upbeat weekend, vapers and e-cig venders were able to rally together in support of one common cause. The huge turnout was evidence that e-cigarettes truly are impacting a lot of Americans. While some attendees had planned to come for months and traveled from around the nation and even from other countries, a lot of the guests just came from the street, getting their first exposure to e-cigarettes in the midst of the excitement and buzz surrounding the ECC.

Ultimately, the Anaheim Electronic Cigarette Convention was a vast success. It brought e-cigarettes some new exposure as media outlets took notice and curious smokers visited to learn more about the basic science behind vaping. The huge crowd is just further evidence that the e-cig industry is booming. While no one can be certain what the future holds for electronic cigarettes, there is no denying that these products are highly popular and deserve a second look from smokers that want to change their lifestyles to eliminate tobacco without giving up the “smoking” experience.

Katie actually had a negative first experience of electronic cigarettes, picking up a cheap and horrible model from my local mall. Thanks to a chance meeting with co-editor David, she hasn’t had a tobacco cigarette in over 5 years. She brings a strong female voice to the e-cig community.
