Each time we review a new electronic cigarette brand, we look for something unique that sets that brand apart. The marketplace is saturated with many companies selling the exact same e-cig products with the only difference being branding. NicStick Electronic Cigarettes happens to have a unique trait that we like to see.
I was apprehensive of NicStick when I first browsed their website. The homepage shows distinct categories but when you click on “E-Cigarettes” you’re only presented with their standard models. When you click “products” in their top menu, it shows three more completely different starter kits. To find their e-liquids and accessories, you have to click the small arrow next to “products” which then shows additional options. The graphics on the site look great but the navigation is very tricky and confusing.
***UPDATE*** NicStick overhauled their website in early 2013. The new layout is much more functional and easier to navigate. We commend NicStick for listening to their customers and making the necessary changes!
However, when we received our Tank Duo and Tank Ego kits, it made up for the faults on their website. This is the first company we’ve reviewed that makes the fairly new tank cartridge system a standard, and that is the refreshing unique factor we crave. While the 302 Ultra, 510L Elite and Starter Kit Duo kits still use the same old cotton-filled cartridges, the Tank models are a great change.
Tank cartridges don’t have any filler material inside them. Instead, they hold only e-liquid. The atomizer inserts through a small opening in the cartridge so the liquid is heated directly. This does wonders for flavor as filler materials can create impure tastes. We do have a few tips if you’re new to using tanks:
First of all, any time you use a three-piece e-cig we recommend “burning off” the atomizer before inserting the cartridge. This means puffing on the e-cig without the cartridge for a while until the vapor is minimal. When atomizers are shipped separately from cartridges, they are coated with a liquid that keeps them from drying out. Unfortunately that liquid sometimes tastes funny so we like to get rid of it before using the e-cig.
Second and more importantly, make sure you don’t remove the inner cap on the cartridge. You’ll have to take off the rubber stopper that covers the cartridge but there is a smaller rubber piece inside that needs to stay put. When I first used a tank cartridge, I accidentally pulled out the inner cap with the rubber stopper. When I started puffing on the e-cig, I sucked nearly all of the e-liquid into my mouth. This experience is pretty terrible so please don’t make the same mistake I did.
Once you get used to the tank system, it’s hard to go back. All of our kits came with the 18mg Tobacco and we got an extra bottle of it to refill our empty cartridges. The tobacco flavor is enjoyable and refilling the tanks is a breeze. NicStick offers six flavors in varying strengths. NicStick’s batteries provide enough power for higher than average vapor production. Unfortunately the smaller batteries that come with the 302 and 510 kits seem to lose power quickly. For this reason, I prefer the eGo as it has a larger battery and stays charged much longer. The larger size may not be for everyone though.
They also sell replacement chargers as well as a few carrying cases but that’s the extent of their accessories section. Cool accessories are another way for e-cig companies to be unique but NicStick doesn’t offer much here.
Overall, I’m pleased with NicStick’s electronic cigarettes. They work well and the tank system is an awesome advance in e-cig technology. The shipment was fast and I haven’t had any issues with faulty parts or a reason to contact customer support. If they can increase battery life, update their website, and expand their accessories section, NicStick will be a strong contender.

I didn’t know much about e-cigarettes before I bought my kit and I wish I had done more research, I’m impressed with the quality and the battery seems to last forever which impressed my friend who had opted for a smaller cigarette style one. Having looked around at other companies nicstick have a very tiny cartridge range and are a bit on the expensive side.
I like the taste with the tanks but their kind of a lot of work to refill. And the batteries dont last very long for the size.
