Reviewing a new product is always tough, mostly because you are entering a market that already has well established competition. It is tough to be objective and measure the new product against the others that are so well known. Difficult competition is what is waiting for Pure Cigs, but they are facing the challenge. When I first began, I thought that compared to mega stars like Green Smoke and Safe Cig, the new Pure Cigs were bound to come up short. The truth is that the Pure e-cig is actually a very nice little electronic cigarette.
The first thing that the Pure electronic cigarette has going for it is the price. The cartridges only cost $2.50 a piece and are the equivalent to about 20 cigarettes. While the vapor that the Pure cigarette produces is not nearly as dense as I would like, I feel that the fact that the flavor stays consistent from first puff to last, helps offset the somewhat thin vapor.
One of the things that I liked about the Pure Cigarette was the LCD lights. Customers can choose from several different colors. Not only do the different light choices make it possible for consumers to show off their own unique personality, the different shades of LCD light are less likely to trigger accusations of smoking when you try to use the Pure Cig while in a public building.
I was very impressed with the quality of the Pure Cig. It felt very natural in my hand and was well balanced. It does not feel like the company tried to cut any corners by using cheap materials. Based on my experiences, I think that the Pure Cig will be around for a good long while.
***UPDATE FOR 2013***
It’s been a while since I first reviewed Pure Cigs and they have made some major and impressive updates. First, they’ve updated their website and it is much nicer looking and easier to navigate. Also, I have had the chance to try out a few of their more recent product releases – the Pure XL and most recently the awesome Pure ELiTE. If you’re a first time e-smoker and you are looking for an e-cig very similar to your traditional tobacco cigarettes, I would still recommend Pure’s G4 Starter Kits. They are a great first step into the e-cig world. However, if you’re looking for a little more power and longer battery life – try out the Pure XL. It’s much larger and bulkier than the G4 series, but the XL batteries and cartridges last nearly three times longer between charges and changes than the G4′s components.
If you’re looking for EVEN MORE power as well as some additional control over your vaping experience, you have to try out the new Pure ELiTE. First I must say, the ELiTE is one of the coolest looking electronic cigarettes I’ve had my hands on because of the square battery and other features. We got to try out all three color options – white, black and chameleon – and both of the menthol and tobacco flavors. My favorite by far is the White ELiTE – it just looks sleek and clean. The chameleon colored batteries are nice but they don’t really give that color-changing appearance that you’d expect from chameleon paint. I also prefer the tobacco flavored cartridges – it’s a pleasantly smooth vapor.
Here is where the ELiTE gets even cooler. There are two small buttons and a mirrored LED screen near the bottom of the battery. The first time you press one of the buttons it shows you how much battery life is left. After that you can use the buttons to change the power from 3.3 volts up to 5 volts. You’ll notice that the flavor, temperature and amount of vapor changes depending on the power setting, so this allows each person to find their favorite “sweet-spot.” Another cool function of the ELiTE battery is that you can turn it off and on by pressing the power button three times in a row. This prevents the battery from frying the cartomizer if it’s accidentally pressed in your pocket. The final nifty feature is that you can plug the retractable charger cord into the bottom of the battery and keep using the ELiTE. The cord extends about 3 feet so you can have constant power while you’re sitting at your desk.
I’m very impressed by Pure’s new e-cig models and look forward to whatever else the have in store for the future!

Pure Cigs are cheap and awesome. I have their XL in red and their regular starter kit in black. These things look slick and work like a charm. The flavors could be just a little tastier but they are far better than tobacco. I also got their charger pack that let s me charge some batteries in my pocket. Overall, everything comes together very well.
Purchased an XL kit at a really good price, but I did not see that the XL cartridges are very expensive. I didn’t enjoy many of the flavors either so after a while I’ve stopped using it.
Super fast shipping and great price for a kit! Couldnt see spending so much to start with other companies. Tastes great

Checked them out after reading the bad review and finding they indeed have cartomizers on clearance from $15.99 to $7.99.
But they’ve also pretty much got a big “KEEP OUT!” sign on them in the description so I asked whats up with that. Turns out they’re from an old manufacturer that wasn’t up to snuff, so they really don’t want people buying them unless they already know about the issues with those refills.
Sounds pretty honest to me.. Josh have an alterior motive with his bad review, or he just really bad at math?
i bought this e-cig over a year ago,and it was good to me.I can not say so much for Pure.Customer service is not bad but not good either, they send out email advertisements that are not entirely true.for instance just a week ago i get an advertisement that said clearance sale 50% off the tips i used, followed the link to there website only to see a 25% markdown. My advice do your research on these ecig companys, some arent all there cracked up to be.
Love it!! It’s the prettiest e-cig I’ve ever seen and it lasts all day while I’m at work. 5Stars!
Good vapor, cartridges didn’t last quite as long as I hoped, but still seemed to be okay. I like the taste enough to give up tobacco quickly. No more old cigs for me. I’m a pure cigs purist now.
I’ve got to admit – I bought the PureCig just because it was on TV. Travis Stork actually tried it on “The Doctors” and I have a massive crush on him. I am a smoker and always feel bad when they talk about how bad smoking is on this show. So then they do the special on ecigs and Travis actually USED THE ECIG right on stage. I was like, “I gotta have one NOW.” I ordered it and was actually surprised at how good it tasted. It’s not too different from regular smoking except I cough less and it’s cheaper. Thanks TRAVIS STORK and thanks PureCig. You are my two loves… haha!
I saw PureCigs on “The Doctors” one afternoon while I was rocking my baby to sleep. I had been trying to quit smoking since my little boy was born and just couldn’t. I had constant guilt as a mom. I TRUST “The Doctors” so when they had a woman actually use the PureCigs and they passed one around the table too, I knew it was a safe alternative. I ordered mine and have been using it ever since. No more tobacco for me!!!
I like everything about your product except the flavors. Your ecigs and packaging look really nice and work really well but I don’t like the flavors. They seem very bland and sometimes stale. I know there are many options out there that are better like the USA-made stuff. Maybe you should try some of those flavors.
I got mine 3 weeks ago and I’ve been really impressed. It’s very good value for money. Not had a normal cigarette in a week now!
I bought pure cigs because I’m shallow and it looked great! It wasn’t until the day after I thought to myself, what if it’s not as good as it looks? However my fears were soon put to bed as they’re awesome. The charging pack is great as I only work in my office for about 2 hours a day, so I’m out and about the rest of the time. Strangers are always coming up to me and asking what it is, and it’s a great conversational piece. It’s also saving me like loads of money! Like $100 a month of what I was spending on smokes.
