Today’s Celebs Prove That All Ages Love E-Cigarettes Today’s Celebs Prove That All Ages Love E-Cigarettes

It seems like every age group has their own set of memorable trends. When you think about Baby Boomers, you probably picture June Cleaver with her pearls and perfectly coifed hair. When you imagine the Generation X population, you might think of career-driven professionals that are putting off family life and rebelling against traditional family values. No matter which age group you study, there is one thing they all share in common: they all love e-cigs. Today’s celebrities just prove this point as Hollywood stars of all ages are getting in on the e-cig action.

Barely Legal Vapers – Meet the 20’s: Bruno Mars

The world’s youngest vapers don’t just use e-cigarettes. They also promote them and spread the word to their friends. This generation was raised in the anti-tobacco world so when they discover e-cigs, it’s an easy sale! A perfect example is music artist Bruno Mars. He’s only 27 years old, but he’s already well known with hits like “When I Was Your Man” and “Rain”. He is very open about his love affair with e-cigarettes and even signed on as an investor for NJOY earlier this year.

Young Professional Vapers – Meet the 30’s: Britney Spears

It’s hard to believe Britney Spears is in her 30’s, but then again, most of us that loved her music are still denying our own 30’s too. Britney was an instant star when she hit the music scene dressed like a Catholic schoolgirl singing “Oops, I Did It Again”. But during her 20’s, Britney fell hard and fast. In the midst of a very public breakdown, she was also a chain smoker. Now at 31 years old, Britney has made a smart decision and switched to electronic cigarettes. This is just one of many healthy changes Britney has made in the past few years as she has embraced life as a young professional and mom of two little boys.

Mid-Life Vapers – Meet the 40’s: Courtney Love

People in their 40’s are usually well settled in life and starting to think more towards the future. They are usually involved with their families, enjoying stable careers, and even thinking about padding that retirement fund. But when they think back on their younger years, one of the infamous stars of their generation is Courtney Love. She was a rock star in the 90’s as part of music group “Hole”. Of course, she was also a smoker too. Now that she’s 49 years old, the superstar put down her cigarettes and started using NJOY e-cigs. She’s even shown vaping in a new ad for NJOY.

Health Conscious Vapers – Meet the 50’s: Dennis Quaid

People in the 50-something set are usually really health conscious and making very intentional lifestyle decisions to boost longevity. Maybe it’s watching aging parents decline that wakes up this age group to their own mortality, but for whatever reason, they tend to be choosing e-cigarettes over tobacco for health reasons. At 59 years old, Dennis Quaid has ditched his old smokes and has been photographed numerous times vaping instead. His movie roles in the 80’s made him a household name, but he is still landing big roles today.

Older and Wiser Vapers – Meet the 60’s: Barry Manilow

At 69 years old, Barry Manilow has been a star for decades. His songs like “Mandy” and “Copacabana” are crowd favorites and people still pack out theaters to watch him perform. During an interview, Manilow shared about his lifelong battle with smoking that began when he was just 9 years old. At the worst, he was smoking three packs of cigarettes everyday. Though he quit smoking for nearly 20 years, he eventually started again after having “just one” cigarette in Las Vegas. Soon, he was a full-blown smoker again so he decided to try e-cigarettes. The rest is history! Manilow is now a very public e-cig fan, leading other 60-somethings to consider vaping as a much better alternative to cigarettes.

Katie Bercham - CocktailNerd Editor

Katie actually had a negative first experience of electronic cigarettes, picking up a cheap and horrible model from my local mall. Thanks to a chance meeting with co-editor David, she hasn’t had a tobacco cigarette in over 5 years. She brings a strong female voice to the e-cig community.
